Medieval Hostel “GHOSTeL” operates in accordance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of Personal Data and on the free movement of such data (hereinafter as “GDPR”), and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (EU GDPR) as well as the current Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data” dated 01.06.2010 No. 2297-VI. Dealing with the information you provide to us, we are committed to protect your Personal Data according to the above mentioned legal acts.

By using the website or any of our services and by agreeing to this Policy, you approve the collection and use of Personal Data as described in this Policy.

Personal Data that we collect and process. Data retention policy

We collect and process your Personal Data only in the way permitted by the law. We only collect Personal Data relevant to the fulfilment of an agreement with the customer.

In the case of online, personal or phone reservations, we request/can request that the guest makes the following information available:

  • contact details: (first name, last name, phone number, e-mail address);
  • personal information (ID card, passport details, place and date of birth);
  • bank card details for reservation and transaction purposes (type, number, expiry date, name of card holder; CVC/CVV);
  • arrival and departure dates;
  • technical and location data you generate as a result of using our website and applications.

During check in we make a copy of your passport or other ID.

Providing the required information by the guests is a precondition for using hostel services.

We draw your attention to the fact that in accordance with paragraph 2 of Art. 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data”, your Personal Data is stored in the hostel you stay in.

We take reasonable measures to protect Personal Data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction, as well as to keep Personal Data accurate and up-to-date.

We use SSL cryptography on its website for online reservations. Any information shared by the Data Subject with the Company shall be encrypted automatically and be protected when transferred through the network. When the information is received by our server, it is decoded by using an individual private key. SSL enables the browser to connect to the website and establish a secure communication channel in a transparent manner. SSL is the most widely used and most successful cryptographic system. In order to use the system, the Data Subjects simply need to verify their browsers' compatibility.

For online transactions, we use reasonable technological measures to protect the Personal Data that you transmit to us via our website. Unfortunately, however, no security system or system of transmitting data over the Internet can be guaranteed to be entirely secure.

For your own privacy protection, please do not send payment card numbers or any other confidential personal information to us via email.

We will not contact you by mobile/text messaging or email to ask for your confidential personal information or payment card details. In case of receiving a request about your payment card information by e-mail or SMS, please, do not reply, most probably you are communicating with swindlers.

We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes to this Policy we will post a link to the revised Policy on the homepage of our website.
